If you have already found the ultimate outfit, all you need now is the beauty look that will perfect it. Take inspiration from our recommendations, then decide on your perfect pairing…
The sassy diva
If you are daring and adventurous, your look needs a quirky touch. Whether it will be accessorised with a fake-fur jacket or some screaming jewellery, it will only be important to step out of your comfort zone.
‘An ombre lip is a perfect way of making an eye-catching beauty statement to match your daring fashion choices,’ says Jaimee Thomas, a make-up artist. ‘Trace a berry liner over your upper and lower lip lines and blend with a brush. Next, pat a bright pink lipstick onto the centre of your pout with your finger, until it meets the darker shade. To create the ombre effect, blend the two colours together with a lip brush and set with translucent powder to prevent smudging.’
Keep the rest of your make-up simple, by only complementing the look with neutrally shimmering eyeshadows and a touch of black mascara on top lashes.
The smart sophisticate
The rule is: details really matter. A stylish blazer paired with a bow blouse, or a lace top with classy trousers – your smart sophisticated outfit choices aren’t intended to demand attention.
‘Your make-up needs to be subtle, with a twist,’ says Jaimee. ‘Low-key colours with a shot of texture, such as metallic or glitter, will add standout to your look.’
Apply a creamy gold shadow on your lids and a matching metallic shadow over the top, emphasizing the intensity at the inner corners. A nude lipstick with a slight shimmer, plus a blush on your cheeks, will give enough festive touch to your style..
The sparkle queen
It’s all about adding a shimmer to your festive outfit. Whether it’s a stunning top or a glittery peace, as long as it sparkles, it is accepted. But just because you’re clothing combination glitters, doesn’t mean that your face should glitter too.
‘A matte smoky eye will turn on the glamour, but won’t compete with your outfit,’ says Jaimee. ‘Apply a dark eyeshadow to your eye sockets and underneath lower lashes. Blend the colour over lids with an eyeshadow brglush so it stretches just above the socket lines. Run a cotton bud underneath the lower lash lines to clean up any smudges and keep it graphic. Pair with nude lipstick and sheer foundation to ensure the look is super-modern.’
