Scares are formations that occur after the healing of injured or damaged tissue, after a surgery, trauma or incisions. When we see a scar on the body, we almost never think of it how important it is to apply an adequate treatment on the affected areas. Although it does not seem as something that can cause us problems, scars can be very harmful for our health.
The scar is beneficial reaction of the body to some kind of injury, but can be dangerous because fibrosis formation can cause big problems locally or on another part of the body. They should not be treated only in the case when they are not completely healed.
There are mainly two ways that are very useful and successful in releasing scars, and namely, indirect and direct technique of manual skills of osteopathy and myofascial release.
Indirect techniques release is superficial and less painful and is used in recessed and flat scars, while the direct technique release is used for scars caused by deeper wounds and is more painful. Scar therapy is necessary, and the most effective in abdominal and thoracic surgery scar after cesarean section or surgeries of other organs in that area.
