Lovely Air Plant Wine Bottle Cork Magnets
Do it yourself / /
If you are a wine lover and you enjoy plants, here is a superb idea how to combine them in lovable air plants that can bring life in your room.
This is a genus idea especially if you think you aren’t gifted for taking care for something not even for plants, or you simply don’t have much time. The plant is absolutely self-sustainable gathering moisture and the needed nutrients from the air--there is nothing you wouldn’t love about it. Plus, not only you will bring new dimension to the interior of your room, but also you will be environmentally friendly giving the already used corks a new purpose.
This DIY project couldn’t be easier. All you need is four items:
1. A wine bottle cork—by using a cork of wine you have drunk in a special occasion you would give an extra value to this sweet decoration, making sure that the memory of your special occasion will be saved even in a material form.
2. A glue—make sure it is a non-toxic one, and if you are impatient also use a fast-drying glue.
3. A magnet—also consider magnetic tape which allows you to easily attach the cork on any metal surface, fridge for instance.
4. An air plant—if you can’t find any in the local supermarkets, try some online sources. Tillandsia is the perfect genus for this project.
The making of process is even simpler then you thought. Simply glue the magnet to the cork and allow to dry completely. Than apply a tiny bit of glue on the cork and attach the air plant on it. Their roots aren’t parasitic and are used only as an anchor. You are done!
Your plant will be even happier if you spray it with water from time to time. Experience says that it would love to live in a bath. Pretty cool. Try it!
