Summer item: cut-out T-shirt
Do it yourself / /
We all love cut-out T-shirts for a hot summer days and nights. And instead of just cutting off the sleeves, we present you a more stylish way to do it.
We saw this DIY project at diy.2ndfunniestthing.com and we loved it. The geometric cut-out T-shirt is cool upgrade to your beach outfit, and if you can pull it off then it can be perfect for summer festivals and beach parties.
Marta at Second Funniest Thing created her version of the cut-out T-shirt and it’s chic enough for a night out.
For this DIY project you will need:
- a basic T-shirt (the one shown is a men’s shirt) in whichever color you desire
- fabric chalk
- this geometric template
- and scissors
First you will need to print out the template. Then cut out the design. Make sure you cut out the insides of the template.
Place the template on the back side of the T-shirt. Place it in on the upper back part. Mark the design with chalk.
Now the trickiest part - cutting out the shapes. Do it carefully since there is no 'undo' button in real life.
When you are done with the back, use the same template to trace just a triangle on the front of your shirt (just below your neck). Cut out the triangle.
If you want to get an edgier vibe, cut out the sleeves as well. If the T-shirt is long enough, it might be perfect cover for your swimsuit on your way to and from the beach during your holiday.
Let us know how it turns out.
