The new collection signed by Demna Gvasalia for Balenciaga officially got its proper ad shots. Check them out.
Balenciaga announced that after Alexander Wang left, his place would be taken by Demna Gvasalia. And now (at last) we get to see the first photos for his 'debut' collection for Balenciaga for upcoming Fall/Winter 16/17 season.
We have seen the runway show and covered it for you, but now as we slowly walk towards fall season, the ad campaign and photo shoot had to be done. For the photo shoot the Georgian designer says that unlike the one for Pre-Fall 16 collection which was taken in a studio, this time he wanted to take the fashion to the streets, where it belongs and evolves.
Even though the fashion public expected a bit more extravaganza from the Vetements designer, he decided to play it safe and simple. He shot the fall ad campaign with the help of photographer Mark Borthwick and the styling was done by Lotta Volkova, the fashion editor of Dazed & Confused.
The photos are taken in real, street surrounding, on the streets of Paris. The designer says that he wanted to keep things real, and show off the clothes in everyday occasions, in real time and place where people live.
Check out the final result and let us know what you think. Is Demna making all the right moves to bring the brand closer to the street style audience?
