Dark lipstick is not about Halloween anymore, it is one of the hottest trends for the following season, that ladies will not resist.
This season spice your makeup with lipstick in dark color. Starting from rich red color to deep plump and black, they are all absolute trend this winter. All you need to do is pull hair back into an ponytail keep your eyes and cheeks bare and let your look be all around a dramatic lipstick. Here is what you should pay attention to when wearing one.
Save your dark-colored lipstick for nights out. Match the color of the lipstick with the color of your outfit. "A substantial color like this calls for substantial clothing," says Sandy Linter, makeup artist. For a perfect match choose fabrics in deep green, navy or even some reds will be a perfect fit.
Choose the shade that suits you best. There are mainly four burgundy shades: pink, brown, blue, and red, among them choose the one that suites your skin, eyes, hair color.
“If you’re light-eyed, pink-based burgundy colors will look amazing on you. This hue makes your eyes pop. If you have dark eyes a brown burgundy will bring them out even more. A blue-based burgundy on the other hand, isn’t too light or too dark, so it can be worn by women with light or dark eye colors. For a deep red burgundy I usually choose based off of the hair color. This one is more suited for brunettes because their hair balances out and can support the intense color,”- explains Linter.
Use a lip brush to apply the lipstick more precisely. It can easily happen that by chance you mess the lipstick and pass out of the lip couture, which is be quite unwanted knowing how stubborn dark lipsticks can be for correction. Therefore, swipe the brush on from the outer corner of the mouth to center on both the upper and lower lips, then fill in the rest of the lips. Makeup artists suggest that burgundy lip pencils can be overwhelming and take the focus away from the actual lip color, so to avoid that, tend to apply the lipstick first and then run your liner in a matching shade along the couture of your lips to give them a fine borderline. You can optionally apply a layer of gloss to make the lipstick last longer and give it a shiny touch, but dark colors are attractive enough to jus as it is.
For the end don’t forget to wear it confidently, because that is what burgundy lips require.
