Corinne continues promoting her latest album with a new single and accompanying music video. Check out our review of "Hey, I won't break your heart".
The third single taken off Corinne's third studio album 'The heart speaks in whispers' is officially out. "Hey, I won't break your heart" was written by Corinne herself, with the help from Stephen James Brown who also produced the track together with Chanse Fyffe.
The song is one emotional ballad. Following the slow paced guitar melody, Corinne's voice sings about someone breaking hear heart, as well as an ‘eternal’ hope for better days and a resurrection of old romance.
Here in the twilight of one endless summer
You’ve got me waiting like a teenaged girl
My eyes wide with starlight
But folded in my new dress, the memories
Love is more hesitant a second timeOoh...
Hey, I won’t break your heart, like you broke mineThis time around I won’t cling to the those paper crowns
I won’t tear you down
This time I’ll listen like it’s love’s first secretSo come bring your love here with all its mistakes
Speak to me softly like lovers do
Here are the fragments I saved for youOoh...
Hey, I won’t break your heart like you broke mine..."
The song, once again puts the right tone on Corinne's vocals, her ability to deliver what seems to be effortless, but incredibly heartfelt performance. This is another proof of a perfectly solid album, which unfortunately won't have the commercial success it deserves. But for all you out there, that love Corinne and her music, this is the perfect heartwarming song for the breezy autumn days.
The promotional campaign for the single was kicked off with the audio release, after which the official video followed. It was directed by James Frost and it does justice to the song, capturing the emotions in one nice 3 minute visual.
