After 'Lonely heart', Dragonette premiere another song and officially announce the new album release date. Check out our review of 'Sweet poison'.
The Canadian electropop trio Dragonette made a comeback couple of months ago with 'Lonely heart'. We had to wait a while before the summer passed and they decided to premiere the music video for the song. Now they continue to hype us up for their long awaited new album with a new song. 'Sweet poison' came out with an announcement that the album drops out November 11th and it is titled 'Royal Blues'.
Back to the new singe, you sure expect it to be electro pop, and it is just that. It is dreamy, fluffy, smooth, disco anthem, it is simply a pure pop perfection. It also features collaboration with Dada. Lyric wise it is a bitter sweet, love song that tells us (for the millionth time) that love is literally a sweet poison.
The new album on the other hand might feel a bit melancholic, but it is not entirely sad (or so they say). Since the lead singer Martina Sorbara separated from her husband Dan Kurtz (who is also a member of the band) it is understandable why we had to wait so long for the new album. After all they had to sort things out, get over the whole thing, and luckily for us decided to 'maintain a creative relationship' and record a brand new album.
While we wait for 'Royal Blues' check out the latest jam 'Sweet poison' and let us know how you like it.
