Dua Lipa slows things down with a new single
Music Reviews / /
After the intoxicating summer smash 'Blow your mind', Dua Lipa is back with a new single. Check out our review of 'Room for 2'.
The singer/model might be one of the most buzzed new music faces out there. She got our likes with 'Be the one' and 'Last dance' but continued paving her way to a really solid fan base with 'Hotter than hell' and lastly 'Blow your mind'. Somewhere in between all these radio hits, the inevitable question popped up 'When are we getting a full album?'
The date is (pretty much) set for February 10, 2017 for her self-titled debut album to be out on the shelves of CD and online music stores. While we wait for it, Dua keeps recording and filming music videos. Her last couple of songs got us hooked on an up-tempo, dance tunes with some amazing vocals, and now months ahead of the album release, Dua decides to slow things down.
'Room for 2' is actually quite reminiscent of Dua's debut single 'New love'. It is slow paced yet it gives us dark vibes and repetitive lyrics sung with that velvety sound of Dua's voice and a bit of auto tune. The song was written by Dua Lipa, Tom Neville and Autumn Rowe. The trio did a good job making the atmospheric trend blend into Dua's (now) signature, sensual singing and sounding.
Up and down, it all comes back around
Push and shove, do you feel better now?
Knock, knock, knock
You'll come tumblin' down
Karma's got a kiss for you..."
A promo music video was shot in collaboration with Hunger Magazine. Directed by Vicky Lawton, the video shows us the singer looking stunning as always, in what seem to be questioning room set. Most of the video is actually 'seen' through the security camera lenses, but it captures the song's vibe so good that we do not mind at all.
Anyway, check it out and let us know what you think.
