After becoming worldwide popular with 'Let her go' back in 2012 and making the world cry, we are ready to cry again with Passenger. The incredible songwriter is aiming for a tear-jerker once again. 'Somebody's love' is the leading single from his new album 'Young as the morning, old as the sea' which is expected to be released in September.
The song itself is an atmospheric ballad with acoustic sound and guitar elements. It fits Passenger signature sound and brings, once again soulful lyrics.
Oh when the leaves they fall
You're gonna need somebody to call you
You're gonna need somebody's arms to crawl into
To crawl into
Go and get yourself lost
Like you always do
Sail into the blue
With nobody next to you
Oh but when you wanna get yourself found
There may be no one around
You sink without a sound
You know it's true..."
'Somebody's love' is a love ballad, with its lyrics touching subjects that whatever you do, or however you succeed in life, at the end of the day you will need somebody's love to fall into. It is charming, romantic in some delicate, non-pretentious way.
The song comes with a music video directed by James Lee. In the visual we get to see Passenger singing the song while he rows a little boat that is set on fire towards the end of the video. It captures the song's emotion and while it might not be your favorite summer song, it will definitely find its way to your heart.
