Rihanna's MTV VMA's performances

Rihanna took the stage of Madison Square Garden last night to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. But it was her performances that stole the spotlight.
Rihanna was the 'guest of honor' on this year's MTV VMAs. She was there to accept the award for significant contribution to the popular music, also known as Lifetime achievement award which was renamed into Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. The award was previously given to Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and of course the pop/fashion icon Rihanna.
Rihanna opened the show with a medley of her hits 'Don't stop the music', 'Only girl in the world' which transitioned into 'We found love' and wrapped it up with 'Where have you been'.
But that was not all. Not at all. She took the stage again for a dance hall, party medley with a mash up of 'Rude boy', 'What's my name?' and of course the jam of 2016 'Work'.
Once again there was some more. Third performance was reserved for 'Needed me', 'Pour it up' and 'Bitch better have my money'.
And of course Rihanna saved the best for last. Taking the stage in a modern version of a baroque dress, she sang her soulful ballads accompanied by a full orchestra. She started the ballad medley with her Grammy nominated 'Stay' before belting out her vocals on the Sia penned 'Diamonds' and once again warming our hearts with her soulful rendition of her 'Love on the brain'.
While everyone was rooting for Beyoncé’s Lemonade medley and her win of the Video of the year for 'Formation', it was clear as day that Rihanna stole the spotlight. She managed to transition herself in a powerful performer, fashion icon and an influential face of the modern pop music.
