Shakira is up for some blackmailing
Music Reviews / /
Shakira is giving us glimpse of the sound of her upcoming album. Check out our review of the lead single 'Chantaje'.
Following the success of her recent collaboration with Carlos Vives and Maluma on their summer hit 'La bicicleta', Shakira got back in the studio with Maluma for a brand new song.
'Chantaje' is one (soon-to-be) club anthem with some addictive reggaeton beat that will make you want to shake your hips on the dance floor. On top of its sleek production and the signature Latin sound, the song also gives us sexy lyrics sang in the sexiest way possible. And with Shakira and Maluma, and the Spanish words, that is something you don't want to miss.
Con mi cuerpo un egoísta
Tú eres puro, puro chantaje
Puro, puro chantaje
Siempre es a tu manera
Yo te quiero aunque no quieras
Tú eres puro, puro chantaje..."
The lyrics are actually about really intense, undeniable attraction, that the difficulty to deal with is equivalent with blackmail. Basically it is Maluma being left high and dry, while Shakira is out there, playing with his desire as hers changes in the spree of the moment. With a proper music video and some sexy club set up, this might be the strongest contender (so far) for the winter hit.
Wrapping it up, check out the Spanish version while we wait for the English one and of course the music video.
