Sophie Ellis-Bextor invites us to dance
Music Reviews / /
The British songstress behind the classic 'Murder on the dance floor' is back with another disco tune. Check out our review of her latest single 'Come with us'.
It has been two whole years since the folk inspired (and totally underestimated) effort 'Wanderlust', and now Sophie is back to her roots with a disco flavored new single. 'Come with us' will serve as the leading single from the upcoming album 'Familia' which is being released on September 2nd.
The song itself is cool, disco flavored, pop song. It has some sick guitar riffs, which makes it sound like coming from the 70s disco era, it is perfect for the radio yet sounding totally fresh. It is summer ready, infectious and we are pretty sure it will find its way to the audience.
The upcoming album 'Familia', Sophie describes as:
My new album Familia is the bolshier, more extrovert little sister to Wanderlust. It sees the Wanderlust girl move away from Eastern Europe to the warmer, sunnier climate of South America where she’s swapped vodka for tequila.”
and that is exactly what the catchy 'Come with us' sounds and 'looks' like.
Ten days after the song premiered on BBC Radio 1, we get to see the music video as well. Sophie looks stunning in the video, wearing stylish pieces that seem to be modern version of traditional Latin clothes. Actually the music video perfectly suits the creative direction Dolce & Gabbana took couple years ago, and makes it easy to imagine the song as a background music for their runway shows.
Anyway check it out and let us know what you think.
