Sophie Ellis-Bextor is crystalizing beauty
Music Reviews / /
Sophie continues with the promotion of her new album 'Familia' with a brand new single and video. Check out our review of 'Crystalize'.
She is magnificent singer/songwriter, model and happy mother of four. But we must admit, we are simply obsessed with her presence and her soothing vocal.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor continues the promotion of her sixth album 'Familia'. Switching from baroque pop/folk into a bit more indie pop/folk with her signature disco elements, the songstress does not fail to deliver emotional performances in each and every song.
After 'Come with us' it was time to slow things down. The heartbreak, slow paced ballad 'Crystallise' was chosen to be the second official single. As all other songs on the album, this one was written by Sophie and Ed Hardcourt. The winter-y ballad is all about love, or more precisely about the fact that it comes out of the blue.
Waiting for a lifetime
Like you're carved from the mountain
Sometimes I stand like a statue
Waiting to surprise you
And when it comes, and what it does
Is nail you down, you cannot swerve
You're not the last, you're not the first
To sometimes lose your nerve
You don't need to try hard
You don't need to wise up
It all becomes clear as day
So crystallise love..."
The single promotion campaign gives us, the fans, perfectly captured music video. Sophie has once again teamed up with Sophie Muller, her longtime collaborator. This makes 'Crystallise' the 16th video Muller has directed for Bextor. The result - simply outstanding.
