The addictive Kiss the sky from Jason Derulo
Music Reviews / /
Jason Derulo just released a new single and it sounds great. Check out our review.
The 26-year-old R&B singer/dancer has a brand new song. 'Kiss the sky' brings back the trumpets that Jason made trending back in 2013 with his worldwide smash 'Talk dirty'. The new song is part of the compilation 'Platinum Hits' which serve as a crown to Derulo's 8 years long music career.
The song itself was written by Jason himself with the elp of Bonnie McKee, Madison Love, Michael Caren and Terius Nash. The production was handled by Thomas Troelsen and Thomas Eriksen. Genre wise it is a mash up of pop and funk elements and sounds like a stripped down version of Mark Ronson's 'Uptown funk' and Fleur East's 'Sax'.
The song has 'a roving bass line' and it sounds like it was crafted to be performed at large, crowded venues and stadiums. It has that euphoric moment in some chilled way, yet it can hype-up the audience and make everyone dance.
The single is set to be a part of the official soundtrack of the upcoming animated movie ‘Stroks’. And while we expected the music video to be an extended trailer for the movie, it turned out to be nothing like that. It is just a cool music video where we see Jason dancing around some 'Uptown funk' inspired choreography while having fun. While we are not sure about the chosen outfits of himself and the dancing crew, we must admit that his dance moves are incredibly sleek.
Anyway check it out and let us know how you like it.
